Here are the horses that Rob Kroeger is currently working with.

Nova

Nova is a 6 year old Quarter Horse gelding owned by Joanne Knox. He seems to have some "spooky" issues and will be with me to broaden his foundation to get him "calmer, braver and smarter". This will allow him to be a safer trail horse.

Mustang

Mustang is a 3 year old Quarter Horse gelding brought to me by our friend and neighbour, Yone Kahute. Mustang has been well socialized with people and is in for a 30 day start. He is a smart little guy.

Wawa Bear

Wawa is a 12 year old Quarter Horse gelding now owned by Ray Giffin. He is in for assessment and riding out with Ray in a safe environment. He was purchased at the Calgary Bull Sale and has not been ridden since.

Nate

Nate is a 3 year old Hanovarian gelding owned by Victoria Row. He has just arrived for a 4 month spell with me and is in to start. He's almost 17hh already!

Frankie

Frankie is a 3 year old Hanovarian filly also owned by Victoria Row. Frankie is Nate's half sister and is also in for a 4 month spell to start. She carries herself well and will be quite something. Thank you, Victoria.

Valentino

Valentino is a 12 year old Warmblood owned by Des DuPuis. He has spent most of his life in arenas - jumping, dressage, etc. Des would now like him to be steady on the trail. He tends to be over impulsive so, he is now in the impulsion program and working on Trail. "Big Valley" has the "WOW" factor.

Jester

Jester is a 4 year old Pinto gelding owned by Cal Coulter. He was purchased with temperament well in mind to be Cal's replacement trail/packing horse. He seems to be a good choice. Cal's reason for bringing Jester to me - "'Cuz he don't know nothin'". It could be said he had not been ridden before arriving. However he was well "halter broke", easy to handle and had been exposed to a variety of things. On his fifth trail ride out a neighbour was sighting in a rifle and Jester never missed a beat in his trot. He pricked up his ears in the direction of the gunfire and kept on"truckin'". He shows little wish for training in the arena but give him a trail with a horizon and he steps out.
Update - Jester has gone home now. I wish Cal and Jester "Happy Trails". This horse is a custom fit for his purpose - riding or packing on the trail. I enjoyed my days with Jester. He is a horse worth his weight.

Stormy

Stormy is a six year old filly owned by Heather Thiel. This filly had a 30 day start and a bit of time riding last year. She is with me to broaden her foundation. I will also work with Heather to develop a confident partnership between her and Stormy.

Chet

Chet is a rising 3 year old Quarter Horse gelding owned by Sharon Staplin. Rob continues building on the 30 days Chet already has but is now including Sharon who is much harder to teach.

Missy

Missy is a Dutch Warmblood/Quarter Horse cross mare, owned by Terry Peters. She shows good potential as a strong trail horse and is now improving her arena skills.
Update - Missy's journey continues: she is confident on the trail and in the arena where she is showing an inclination towards jumping.
Update 2 - I am now working on her ability for being driven. She seems to be taking to the harness quite well. This may well be her forte!
Update 3 - Missy still seems happy in harness and happier with the blinkers on.

Lady

Lady was sold in the Fall to Dawn Shand of Itzig, Luxembourg. She remains in my care and training. She is continuing her foundation work and also took no time to clue into being driven. Her versatility is quite something.
Update - Lady continues to be the star pupil. I continue to teach her all that presents itself.

Elvis

Elvis is a seven year old Quarter Horse owned by Rob Kroeger. Whilst things are quiet in the winter I have found time to bring Elvis back into training. This winter I aim to put sixty days of barrel foundation on him.
Update - Elvis is back for building up for the Millarville Stockhorse Race on July 1, 2011.
